Nonna’s Kitchen was established in 2010 in Morningside in Edinburgh by Gino Stornaiuolo and family – The same family who ran the well known and highly regarded ‘Patio’ restaurant in Hanover Street in Edinburgh for 40 years from 1968 onwards.

We offer good quality produce served our way and specialise in fresh fish and seafood with an impressive list of daily specials – we also serve fresh, artisan-made pasta which is made exclusively for us (you have to try pumpkin ravioli in gorgonzola and hazelnuts) as well as many other italian staple dishes. We serve pizzas, we have a kids menu for little ones and we strive to make people feel like they are coming into our or Nonna’s home when they dine here.

The decor is clean and modern, yet the restaurant enjoys a homely, intimate ambience…

We are happy to serve half portions of most of our dishes as we realise that ladies in particular might want to eat 2 starters instead of a full main meal. We launched an ‘Assaggini’ menu which encourages our customers to eat a few smaller dishes so they can mix and match and eat less and taste more!

The owners are very hands on, Son of the family Gino and his mum Carmela run the front of house whilst dad, Mimmo, can be found in the kitchen along with Jimmy who has worked with 3 generations of the Stornaiuolo family.

Reservations are a must in the evenings. We are a good restaurant for any occasion, a small bite, a full a la carte meal, for families, for business meetings and we aim to cater to all tastes

We have been ‘hitlisted’ in the List Magazine’s Eating and Drinking guide in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 and also have been included in Pete Irvine’s ‘Scotland the Best’ guide. We were voted by the public to be the best restaurant in the Edinburgh South area in the 2014 and 2015 in the I-on magazine Food and Drink awards.
